A beautiful expression, Dalmore Age of Exploration 1995 Vintage is a rich and complex dram that was matured in white oak barrels, then sent 3 years of its aging life in Madeira casks before the last 12 month stretch having been in Matusalem Oloroso Sherry butts for a deep and rich flavour. The nose enters with notes of tobacco, cedar and bitter chocolate orange, malt and toffee apple, with a slight hint of tarte tatin and cocoa powder. The palate brings through notes of dried fruit peel, orange juice, sweet stem ginger, malt and spices and a medium finish brings through sweet spices and orange zest.
